Mason & Logan's First Soccer Game... 9-20-08

Grandkids.... Mason and Logan's first soccer game!! They didn't even get to practice!! I don't think Logan was as excited about the whole thing as Mason was. Of course this was the "first" time for them. Hopefully he will like it next week.

Robin's 1st Liquidation Adventure

As most of you know, Real Estate is extremely slow!!! Some of us do not have the pleasure to ride out the market and stay in the game. I for one have had to go on to other opportunities to make a living. I left here on August 10, and flew to Nashville TN. I went to work for a company that does Liquidations, and was hired as a "Start Up Person", meaning that the district was sloted for someone else, only they where not finished with their current job. So I went in to start the project for them and when they became available, they would take over. It was a great opportunity to get my foot in the door. I had a blast. I had never been East of the Mississippi river except in airports.. So to live in a "GREEN" state was something else. I had 6 stores to manage for Whitehall Jewelers. Reaching from Knoxville to Paris TN, and Madisonville to Somerset KY. On an average, I drove 1400 miles a week. AND GREEN, i could not get over how green the state was. Tree's that lined the highway at 200' tall. (Well, I didn't actually measure them, but they where alot taller than the power poles.) I had to learn how to drive in Nashville traffice and the weather!! "Ike" made it's way along my path, and a few other storms. Rain, well, I got plenty in TN. Not that I don't want any here in AZ, just don't really want to drive in it all that much. Here is another view, from my car!! I quit taking pictures, because they all started to look the same, from the seat of the car, as I drove by!! I didn't get to see the leaves change to their full color. They were starting though. I got to see small patches of gold and some red on my route to Somerset KY. This is the court house in the center of Paris Tn. Just a great little town. One Saturday on my way into town, nearly every other lawn was being mowed!! And were not talking small yards. At least 3 to 5 acre lots. This is a typical home in the area that I was staying. (Brentwood TN.) One day I drove to Franklin which was only 10 miles south of Brentwood. They had converted an old stove factory into a mall. With antiques and eateries. When I got there it was closed. One late Sunday afternoon. I got back to AZ, September 22. What a 6 week adventure. Met lots of great people. Drank a lot of Sweet Tea. Ate southern cooking, and just worked hard. I'm glad to be home and sit on our front patio. To watch the sunset on the Cliffs and to visit with friends and family. But I am ready to go again. I just have to wait for the call that sends me on my next liquidation adventure.

Summer is here!!

Our first really nice HOT week end. The wind is not blowing, and the temp is up.. Great weather for boating. We have people in town this week end!! Yeah - Yeah.. I know the price of gas is going to be a big factor for a lot of our boaters this summer. With the amount of snow pack on the west side,,, run off for Lake Powell & Lake Mead,,, I have heard rumor that we should still be able to use the lake all summer. Link to Lake Mead - South Cove Ramp http://www.nps.gov/lame/launchramp.htm Bureau of Reclamation Web site,,, http://www.usbr.gov/lc/riverops.html Lots of information on the water levels and usage.. Meadview AZ Chamber of Commerce Spring Fling

This is the week end for the Chamber's annual Spring Fling. Lots of events and food at the MCA in town. Good thing the weather is going to cooperate with us this year. It was a cool breezy morning and warmed up nicely this afternoon.. Hopefully that four letter word won't show up tomorrow. (Wind) Looked like a bit of traffic in town this afternoon. Boats in and out of the Market, and the Hardware store even looked like it was having a traffic jam in the parking lot. Here it is 9pm and cars are still zooming up and down Sandy Point.
Have a great Spring Fling in Meadview this week end. I pray that we all to have a safe and enjoyable time.
We also have a Meadview Quad Ride every year and this year I believe they called it the Meadview Days instead of the Annual Poker Quad Run.. I will find out and let you know when it is... It's coming up soon.

Wind!!

Only we try not to say that four letter word. It was nasty today. Dust flying and stuff flying all over the place. I am sure glad as of tonight it has calmed down and seams to be a very pleasant evening outside. Best time of year to have your windows open, the fragrance of the blooms make for a great room freshener!

Desert Flower's

The Desert Flower's are in bloom. This is the time of year I will stop and smell the roses.... Only in this case it is the desert wildflowers (or weeds). We had a healthy amount of rain in the beginning of the year to produce an array of color and sizes. It is amazing how we can live with brown colors around us for so long and then BOOM the color explosion is everywhere. Meadview has a wide variety of flowering plants that you miss because they are so small. If you stop and take a closer look you can find flowers the size of pea's that look like orchids. It's amazing.
