As most of you know, Real Estate is extremely slow!!! Some of us do not have the pleasure to ride out the market and stay in the game. I for one have had to go on to other opportunities to make a living.
I left here on August 10, and flew to Nashville TN. I went to work for a company that does Liquidations, and was hired as a "Start Up Person", meaning that the district was sloted for someone else, only they where not finished with their current job. So I went in to start the project for them and when they became available, they would take over. It was a great opportunity to get my foot in the door.
I had a blast. I had never been East of the Mississippi river except in airports.. So to live in a "GREEN" state was something else. I had 6 stores to manage for Whitehall Jewelers. Reaching from Knoxville to Paris TN, and Madisonville to Somerset KY. On an average, I drove 1400 miles a week. AND GREEN, i could not get over how green the state was. Tree's that lined the highway at 200' tall. (Well, I didn't actually measure them, but they where alot taller than the power poles.) I had to learn how to drive in Nashville traffice and the weather!! "Ike" made it's way along my path, and a few other storms. Rain, well, I got plenty in TN. Not that I don't want any here in AZ, just don't really want to drive in it all that much.
Here is another view, from my car!! I quit taking pictures, because they all started to look the same, from the seat of the car, as I drove by!! I didn't get to see the leaves change to their full color. They were starting though. I got to see small patches of gold and some red on my route to Somerset KY.
This is the court house in the center of Paris Tn. Just a great little town.
One Saturday on my way into town, nearly every other lawn was being mowed!! And were not talking small yards. At least 3 to 5 acre lots.
This is a typical home in the area that I was staying. (Brentwood TN.) One day I drove to Franklin which was only 10 miles south of Brentwood. They had converted an old stove factory into a mall. With antiques and eateries. When I got there it was closed. One late Sunday afternoon.
I got back to AZ, September 22. What a 6 week adventure. Met lots of great people. Drank a lot of Sweet Tea. Ate southern cooking, and just worked hard. I'm glad to be home and sit on our front patio. To watch the sunset on the Cliffs and to visit with friends and family. But I am ready to go again. I just have to wait for the call that sends me on my next liquidation adventure.
